Privacy

We will use your information to assess your application for insurance and the terms on which we may offer you cover. We exchange information with other insurers and reinsurers in order to manage your policy. The information you provide may also be shared with fraud prevention agencies to check your details.

You also confirm that you have read, and agreed to, our terms of business, a link to which can be found in the footer below.

Your household policy will automatically renew at the end of its term. This means that, unless you tell us that you don’t want your policy to auto-renew, it will automatically renew and continue to provide cover as long as you pay the renewal premium. You have the right to cancel the auto-renewal feature at any time by telling us via phone, email, post, or online via our website. If you do cancel auto-renewal, this means that you will need to confirm to us specifically that you want your policy to renew, otherwise it will lapse and the cover will cease.

Our assumptions

This insurance depends on the following assumptions being correct. Please read them carefully, if any of them are incorrect it could impact your eligibility for cover and therefore impact the insurer's ability to pay your claim.

You and your family
Your family includes your husband wife or partner, children (including foster children), relatives, your domestic employees and all who normally live with you

  • has not had insurance cancelled, declined or declared void
  • have not been convicted of any criminal offence (other than motoring offences). We only need to know about unspent convictions. A spent conviction is one which, under the terms of Rehabilitation of Offences Act 1974, can be effectively ignored after a specified amount of time. The amount of time for rehabilitation depends on the sentence imposed, not on the offence. The more serious the conviction, the longer the period of rehabilitation

The home you want to insure is

  • not used for any trade, professional or business purposes other than clerical work undertaken by your family
  • not a weekend/holiday or second home
  • not lived in by anyone other than you and your family
  • not left unoccupied for more than 60 days in a row
  • not showing any sign of subsidence or ever had any damage caused to it by subsidence, landslip or heave
  • in a good state of repair and will be maintained in this state
  • not currently undergoing any construction, extension or renovation works

The home you want to insure or the land belonging to it:

  • have not been flooded in the last five years
